Non - Clinical Positions

The following volunteer positions are needed at Grace Clinic. If you are a current volunteer and interested in these specific position, please contact the Grace Clinic Coordinator. If you are not a current volunteer, please complete a volunteer application (PDF) and indicate the position for which you are applying. (See comments at end of this posting)

RECEPTION TEAM:

Volunteer Co-Team Leader: Provides orientation for new receptionists. Helps with developing and implementing reception procedures. Approximately 4 hours per week Tuesday, Friday or Saturday.

Reception volunteer: Volunteer during clinic hours to receive and process patients. Must have the ability to write legibly and follow precise directions for the completion of charts and forms. Must be able to file charts in alphabetical order. Computer skills preferred. Shifts include 4 or 8 hours per month, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

CLERICAL TEAM:

Volunteers work during the week to provide support services for the clinic. Requires ability to work well on the phone, computer and other office equipment. Shifts are 4 or 6 hours/week, Tuesday through Saturday.

Data entry: volunteers needed to expand data entry services. Hours and days are flexible. Experience in working with Access database and/or Excel required.

Projects: volunteers needed for projects including newsletter preparation for mailing. Hours vary.

FOOD CUPBOARD:

Work in the food cupboard to welcome patients and give out food dontations. Shifts include 4 or 8 hour shifts per month on Friday and Saturday. This team is expanding with new roles and added hours!

BUSINESS:

Book keeper assistant needed to file documents, record automatic donations. Must be willing to provide proof of credit report.  Experience preferred. Approximately 8 hours/week.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATION:

Work with other volunteers to provide coordination of volunteer applications, processing and events. Must have e-mail access and computer skills. Approximately 8 hours/week.

SPIRITUAL CARE:

Volunteers pray with patients and provide links with community churches. Shifts include 4,6 or 8 hours/month. Interview required for this position.

INTERPRETERS:

Volunteers provide interpretation for patients who do not speak English. The primary need is for Spanish/English interpretation but other languages may provide assistance by phone or on appointment. Shifts include 4, 6 or 8 hours/month. Needs include during clinic hours (Tues, Friday, Saturday) as well as during Office Hours (Tuesday – Saturday 9am – 3pm). Must demonstrate ability to communicate fluently in English as well as second language. Must be willing to learn medical terminology.

All volunteer applicants must:

  •  Be able to communicate in English
  • Be willing to sign the Ethics Statement. Be willing to support the Statement of Faith (those in leadership sign this document)
  • If a current patient, wait until 6 months after last patient visit at Grace Clinic.
  • Complete the application including the criminal history/background check.
  • Be 18 years of age or older if serving in the following teams: Medical provider, nursing, pharmacy, interpreting for clinical areas. (unless currently enrolled in work study program)
  • Be 16 years of age or older if service in the following teams: reception, clerical, business, volunteer coordination, food cupboard/greeting, facility, interpreting for reception and non clinical teams.
  • All volunteer applicants less than 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to apply.
  • Be willing to complete a volunteer orientation include reading a volunteer handbook, watching an orientation video and participating in a team specific orientation.
  • Be willing to submit to the leadership of the Volunteer Team Leader and clinic staff members.
